Grandparenting Interfaith Granchildren jHUB and Park Synagogue offerskills to navigate family relationships in the context of multiple traditions and backgrounds in first collaborative Grandparents Group on December 6, at 7 pm. jHUB, an initiative that provides interfaith families with new ways to comfortably explore, discover, and personalize the meaning of Jewish culture and values in our modern world, is collaborating with Park Synagogue on a workshop focused on grandparenting interfaith grandchildren. The Grandparents Group provides a safe, confidential space for people to share their family’s experiences and learn skills to navigate family relationships in the context of multiple traditions and backgrounds. Designed for those whose adult children are in interfaith relationships, the group will meet December 6, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at Park Synagogue East, 27500 Shaker Blvd in Pepper Pike. “We know that grandparents often have their own questions and challenges regarding their children’s interfaith relationship, and jHUB helps to strengthen the individual family unit by offering support and resources through this gathering,” said Rabbi Melinda Mersack, director of jHUB. “The underlying principle is to strengthen the relationship between parents and their children and grandchildren.” Rabbi Sharon Marcus, associate rabbi of Park Synagogue, will co-lead this group with Rabbi Mersack. Rabbi Marcus has held similar offerings at Park Synagogue in previous years.
