From authors to creative artists, PR specialists, a greeting card creator, a lawyer and a police officer, students rotated between professionals for instruction, inspiration and practical tips. A special thank you to the Beachwood Schools PTO for providing the funding for this special day. Our awesome keynote speaker, Shelley Pearsall inspired us all! Gratitude to the many special guests and staff listed below who gave their time and expertise to inspire our students: Alesha Trudell, Angela Maxwell, Brian Green, Daniel Porter, Faith Borland, Greg Vovos, Jeff Leikin, Julie Ungier, Ken Veon, Officer John Turner, Sarah Schwartz, Shahnyn Moody-Benedict, TC Messer Lego Club is back in action at Bryden Elementary School. The challenge of the day was to build an 8” bridge sturdy enough to pull two Hot Wheels cars. By the end of the session, students were building ramps and garages. Way to go, little Lego Masters! Homecoming 2016 There was a lot of excitement celebrating the first Friday night homecoming football game. The Bison easily handled Painesville Harvey’s varsity squad. Pre-event activities featured a rededication of the Memorial Rock in honor of Arnie Finkle and Robert Jacobs, classmates from the class of 1974, who lost their lives when lightning struck during a football practice in 1971. The youth cheerleaders were out in force and a group of alumni band and drill team members joined the students for an annual on field performance. The homecoming queen was crowned during halftime and then feted again during the homecoming dance. This year’s finalists were Emily Einhorn, Lauren Miller and Hannah Karl, who was named queen. The Alumni Association also welcomed back the 19891990 Bison football team to commemorate their role as the first Bison sports team to compete for a state championship.
