Cleveland POPS Orchestra celebrates Frank Sinatra’s 100th Anniversary
Jackie Elsner Honored as Life Trustee
ackie Elsner was recently honored as a Life Trustee at Menorah Park Center for Senior Living. Elsner was past president of the Women’s and Men’s Association, a board member for Pictured: Enid Rosenberg and Peter Meisel present 10 years, and the award to Jackie Elsner. a dedicated volunteer for 18 years, starting when her mom became a resident. Elsner helps at Pearl’s Place snack shop twice a week, bartends at Wiggins Place every Thursday evening, is a Hospice volunteer, and is always available to help at all the Menorah Park special events. She was the recipient of the Gertrude Himmel Adell Volunteer of the Year award in 2008, and continues to be a true asset on the Menorah Park campus.

he Cleveland POPS Orchestra with conductor Carl Topilow will present “ CENTENNIAL SINATRA,” starring Steve Lippia on Friday, March 6. The concert will take place at 8 p.m. in Severance Hall. The performance is a celebration of the life and music of the 20th century’s most remarkable singer of the American Songbook – a star of radio, television, movies and countless live performances throughout the world. With voice, charisma, and stage presence, Lippia captures the essence of Sinatra. The Cleveland POPS Orchestra with its charismatic leader, Carl Topilow, will provide the rich, full orchestra background to nearly two dozen of Frank Sinatra’s greatest and most beloved hits – including My Way, Fly Me to the Moon, Luck Be a Lady, One for My Baby, New York, New York, and many more. Lippia will be making his second appearance with The Cleveland POPS, having performed with them in 2008 in a concert titled, “Simply Sinatra.” Tickets, starting at $20, are available for purchase at the Severance Hall box-office, by calling 216.231.1111 or visiting www.clevelandpops.com.
