Call Paula Zavell Rollins at 216.292.5600 (h) or 216.789.3995 (c) At the October 10th Board of Education Meeting, Beachwood’s superintendent and treasurer will present an update on next steps in the planning for consolidating the district’s elementary schools and provide a financial forecast that includes plans to place a combined bond and operating levy on the ballot in May of 2018. Dr. Hardis will provide an overview of the next phase in the consolidation plans -- working with architects on the schematic design of the new elementary addition to Fairmount and conducting another construction pricing exercise. Ms. Mills will present information regarding the district’s five-year financial forecast and why a May 2018 combined bond and operating levy will be recommended as an important investment in the future of the Beachwood community. Seven Seniors Recognized as National Merit Semifinalists Congratulations to the seven Beachwood High School students recognized as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $33 million that will be offered next spring. Of the approximately 3.5 million high school seniors in the United States, only 16,000 are recognized annually as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists..
