Benefit Concert
for Kosher Food Pantry
The Cleveland Kosher Food Pantry and
Music for Food Cleveland will hold a bene-
fit concert, Sharing the Bounty, on Sunday,
November 13, at 3 pm at a Cleveland
Heights home. A dessert reception will
follow the program.
The world-class musicians donating their
time and talent for the concert include vio-
list Kim Kashkashian, violist Yu Jin, violinist
Jaime Laredo, cellist Sharon Robinson and
the Cleveland-based Cavani String Quartet.
Robinson founded the Cleveland Chapter of
Music for Food in 2015.
"We are deeply honored that Music for
Food Cleveland musicians will be perform-
ing on behalf of the Kosher Food Pantry,"
says KFP director Devorah Alevsky. "We are
hoping to raise enough money from the
benefit concert to purchase a delivery van
to allow us to better serve the thousands of
people who rely on our pantry each month."
Kim Kashkashian, founder of the
Boston-based Music for Food, says there
is an "Energy Triangle" that Music For Food
creates among the musicians, audience,
and food pantries. "We want the audiences
to feel like active participants when they at-
tend one of our concerts. They are receiving
music and actively giving in return. Every-
body is giving to everybody. That's what we
love about this model."
The Kosher Food Pantry provides a safety
net to the hungry and food-insecure in
Cleveland's eastern suburbs, without regard
to race, color or religion. As one of the larg-
est food relief agencies in Northeast Ohio,
the Kosher Food Pantry supplies emergency
and supplemental food to 4,000 people
each month and makes home deliveries.
Locally and on a weekly basis, KFP serves 35
families in Beachwood.
Seating for the concert is limited. For
tickets, visit www.kosherfb.org/concert or
send a check to Kosher Food Pantry, 2004 S.
Green Road, Cleveland, Ohio, 44121. For ad-
ditional information, or if you cannot attend
but would like to support this community
effort with a check, please call 216.382.7202.
