he community is invited to attend Montefiore’s Annual Meeting, “Transitions – Celebrating133 Years,” on Wednesday, May 20, at 7 p.m. in the Montefiore Maltz Auditorium, One David N. Myers Parkway, in Beachwood. The Harley I. Gross Presidential Award will be presented to Judy and Steve Willensky, both active members of Montefiore’s board of directors. Steve is immediate past board chair and chair of Montefiore Housing Corporation and Judy is active on several committees and has co-chaired several past fundraising events. Other meeting highlights include: Remarks from immediate past president and CEO, Lauren B. Rock, who will speak on “Reflections and Transitions”; remarks from new president and CEO, Seth Vilensky, on “Building on Our Strengths”; election of the board of directors; honoring the Montefiore Auxiliary; employee recognition; and remarks from board chair Lawrence Mack who will speak on “Positioning for the Future.” If attending, please respond by Friday, May 15, to Sharon Castro, at 216.910.2658 or scastro@montefiorecare.org. Suburban Symphony Orchestra
Sunday, May 17 Hail University: A Concert Celebrating 125th Anniversary of University School Martin Kessler, Conductor oin the Suburban Symphony Orchestra for its final concert of the 2014/15 season in a celebratory concert of the University School’s 125th anniversary. Hear featured University School alumni Johnny Lee, now a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; soloists Jeffrey Kish and Eric Dina in works by Mendelssohn and Copland; as well as a world premier by University School’s own faculty, Joseph Hollings. Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slav will conclude this final program of the season. The concert will take place in Conway Hall, University School Shaker Campus, 20701 Brantley Rd., Shaker Heights. Doors open at 3 p.m. Concerts are free and open to the public.
