Beachwood Schools Class of 2014 2013-2014 STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS • • • • Class size: 132 students 100% graduation rate Awarded more than $5.3 million in scholarships 6 National Merit Finalists; 5 National Merit Commended Students; 1 National Hispanic Recognized Student Academics Beachwood students in all grade levels excelled in regional, state, national and global competitions in science and robotics, math, writing, speech and debate, world affairs, marketing, culinary arts, fine arts, athletics and technology – among many others - including: Team 695, Beachwood High School’s robotics team, won the 2014 OhioFIRST state championship. A team of BMS students won the state Destination Imagination championship and was one of three Beachwood teams to place in the top 15 at the Destination Imagination 2014 Global Finals. The BHS Academic Challenge team won the National History Bowl championship in the Varsity Small School division. The girls basketball team won the district championship and advanced to the regional title game for the second consecutive year. The football, boys soccer, and boys basketball teams all won conference championships. A boys golfer was named conference MVP. A boys tennis duo reached the state Final Four. Social Conscience Students at each of our schools participated in projects and events that celebrate our community’s rich cultural and social diversity, and demonstrate compassion and respect for all members.
