hen walking into
The
Lu-Jean Feng Clinic,
the sense of calm runs through you.
The personal goal of Dr. Feng and her
associates and specialists is to become an advisor
to each patient, helping them achieve inner and
outer balance by incorporating the principles of
both eastern and western medicine. It is this open-
minded and holistic approach to healthcare that
brings patients to the clinic from all 50 states in the
U.S. and more than 27 countries around the world.
CEO Linda Haas told us that
The
Lu-Jean Feng Clinic is one of
best-kept secrets in northeast Ohio.
"We have a three-story, 15,000
square-foot building on Pinetree
Road, where inner and outer har-
mony are the primary objectives,"
she said, adding that their staff has
expanded from 5 to 34 people in
15 years.
Haas then explained how Dr.
Feng, an internationally renowned
microvascular plastic and re-
constructive surgeon, takes an
inside-out approach to wellness,
which lead to expanded services in
the clinic.
When doing a consultation
with someone who is considering
surgery, Dr. Feng shared that health
issues always need to be addressed
to determine if the individual is a
good candidate. "One of biggest
problems is weight," she said. "With
a high BMI (body mass index), many
other problems, including high
blood pressure, diabetes and so
forth, arise."
To address this issue, Feng
FitnessTM, a fitness clinic that offers
personal training and group fitness
classes, was opened. Being a health
and wellness aficionado who can
be seen routinely working out after
surgery, Dr. Feng says it is a privilege
to be able to work out.
Recognizing that people really
don't understand healthy eating,
FengfitTM Foods was born. Under
the direction of certified executive
chef Dale Sapp, this plant-based,
carry-out menu includes soups,
salads, smoothies and salad dress-
ings, all made from the freshest
organic vegetables, whole grains,
legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits, natural
condiments, sea vegetables, and
soy products.
"We are highly successful with
our weight-loss program," Haas
said. "By providing food, working
out with a personal trainer at least
three times a week, and partici-
pating in additional fitness classes,
we set people up for success.
Additionally, we do extensive lab
testing, EKGs and genetic testing,
since 75% of all diseases are revers-
ible or preventable."
Additional services include
acupuncture, massage therapy and
skincare.
Zhongmin Mao, a licensed acu-
puncturist, formerly of Beijing China,
is on staff to treat everything from
pain to digestive and respiratory
disorders. He has a very successful
track record in treating patients who
are dealing with pain management,
concussions, infertility, fatigue, low
energy or addiction issues.
Comprehensive massage ther-
apies, including healing lymphatic
massage and reflexology, as well
as therapeutic massage, are also
availableto treat a wide array of
ailments.
The
Lu-Jean Feng Clinic also
houses the largest medical skincare
department in the state of Ohio,
with two very popular treatments
being ThermageTM and FraxelTM, both
of which are non-surgical rejuvena-
tion therapies. ThermageTM tightens
skin by stimulating collagen, and
FraxelTM resurfaces the outside of
the skin to remove uneven pigmen-
tation and sun damage. Many other
treatments are offered to address
acne, sun damage, aging and more,
and a highly sophisticated digital
skin analysis is done to determine
