Doan Brook Watershed Programs Guided Photography Hike Northeast Ohio residents will be able to explore one of the east side’s natural treasures – the Doan Brook Gorge – with camera in hand during session 1 of a two-part nature photography workshop with Cleveland Heights photographer David Perelman-Hall on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 am to 12 pm. Starting by the western edge of Lower Shaker Lakes between Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights, participants will walk to three pristine sections of the gorge, learn technical and compositional tips on how to create stunning landscapes or close-up images, and explore what makes certain sections of the Doan Brook so photogenic. Terrain is steep in places, so sturdy footwear is recommended; waterproof boots for the truly adventurous! In session 2, on Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 7 to 9 pm, participants will meet at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, 2600 South Park Blvd., 44120, to view Saturday’s images, critique, and learn more technical and compositional techniques. Advance registration is required. Contact Graham at welling@doanbrookpartnership. org or 216.325.7781 to register. A $25 workshop fee covers both sessions. All skill levels are welcome, ages 13 and up. BEACHWOOD CITY COUNCIL My wife Diane and I have been Beachwood residents for 34 years. Our three children all graduated BHS.
