to Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr.
Free and Open to the Community!
Dr. Robert
Haynie, associate
dean for Student
Affairs and asso-
ciate clinical pro-
fessor of medicine
at Case Western
Reserve University,
will deliver the keynote address, titled,
"Advancing Dr. King's Dream," as part of
Montefiore's annual tribute to Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. on Monday, Jan. 18, at
2:30 pm, in Montefiore's Maltz Auditorium
(One David N. Myers Parkway, Beach-
wood). There will be a special musical
performance by The Singing Angels.
Dr. Haynie is dean of the Robbins Soci-
ety and associate dean for Student Affairs
at the School of Medicine. He earned his
Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Case
Western Reserve University and his MD
from the CWRU School of Medicine. Dr.
Haynie is also an Associate Clinical Profes-
sor of Medicine and a former chair of the
Admissions Committee and the Commit-
tee on Students.
Dr. Haynie serves on numerous
committees, including American Society
of Hypertension (ASH) and, as of October
1999, was granted the designation ASH
Specialist in Clinical Hypertension. He is
also a member of the Cleveland Medical
Association, National Minority Organ and
Tissue Transplant Education Program
and the High Blood Pressure Council of
Greater Cleveland. He was selected to
be included in Best Doctors in America
2001-2002 and 2003-2004. Dr. Haynie has
published a number of articles, primarily
in the field of hypertension.
