Milestones Autism Resources Raises $325,000
for Local Families Impacted by Autism
On Saturday, Dec. 5, 330
guests gathered at the Cleveland
Marriott East to directly support
local families impacted by autism
at the "Raise Your Hands for Mile-
stones Autism Resources" annual
benefit, which raised more than
$325,000. Guests enjoyed music
performed by young, talented
musicians, Aaron Greene and Eli
Manos, as well as dinner, a live
auction, and inspiring stories
from adults and families who are
affected by autism.
"We appreciate everyone who
is helping Milestones meet the
needs of families dealing with
autism every day," said Adam
Berebitsky, board chair.
Milestones Autism Resourc-
es is a nonprofit dedicated
to educating, coaching, and
connecting family members
and professionals affected by
autism throughout Northeast
Ohio. This year, Milestones
honored Joyce Goldberg
Fromson, Andrea Kanter Grodin
and Donna Yanowitz to recog-
nize their board leadership and
extraordinary service. "I support
Milestones because they provide
hands-on resources and support
to families right here in the
Cleveland area," said Fromson.
Honorary chairs were Allison
and Tom Frazier, Cathy and Larry
Goldberg, Diane and Steve Ros-
en, Kyla and Mitchell Schneider,
Barbara and Jon Shane, Margaret
and Larry Singerman, Judy and
Steve Willensky, and Dara and
Alan Yanowitz.

tales about British royalty in her
talk, "Scandals in the House of

Recent trip To the Holy Land."
Rabbi Caruso brings insightful
messages in his talks. Lunch is at

Sunday, January 24
Sunday Mitzvah Morning con-
tinues its goal of working together
to create projects that benefit our
congregants and many others in
the community. Work on lap robes,
medical vests for epileptic children,
and numbers books for children
at the Cleveland Sight Center.
Mitavah Morning takes place in the
Commons from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
Tuesday, Feb. 2
Felicia Zaverella Stadelman
will ask us to "Learn about Van
Gogh" in a talk starting at 1
pm. Ms Stadelman has been
lecturing for the past 20 years
using "Through the Eyes of the
Artist," which promotes the study
of the artist in order to learn
more about his or her art work.
The program begins at 1 pm.
Lunch is served at noon; $8 for

Expansion for Children and
Families Impacted by Autism

Cuyahoga County Council ap-
proves funding of $100,000 that
will be allocated over a two-year
period to support the Mile-
stones Autism Resources' Parent
Coaching Capacity Building
Initiative for Children and Fami-
lies Impacted by Autism. As the
primary sponsor of this program
initiative, County Councilwoman
Sunny Simon understands the
increasing demand for commu-
nity autism services. Simon is
an avid proponent of programs
that serve to enhance the overall
well-being of individuals who
may have life challenges. "Mile-
stones provides vital services
that are essential to helping
individuals and families manage
the daily challenges of autism,"
states Councilwoman Simon.
Milestones Coaching Program
provides parents, caregivers, and
individuals with knowledgeable
advice, customized resources,
and connections to area services.
The organization also provides
professional development and
informational support to area
hospitals, school districts and
community agencies. Over the
years, Milestones has provided
in-service training to adult pro-
viders, including the Cuyahoga
County Board of Developmental
Disabilities. Public and private
schools in Cuyahoga County
have also reached out to Mile-
stones to further equip their
students who are transitioning
into adulthood. In the past year
alone, Milestones has worked
with more than 250 community
partners and assisted more than
2,400 parents, professionals,
and individuals of all ages and
abilities.
