Need Help to Reduce
Pain? Options Are
Available
For many people, pain is part of each day simply routine.
According to research about arthritis, back pain and joint pain, to
name a few, physical therapy is a strong way to reduce pain. Physical
therapists at Menorah Park's Peter B. Lewis Aquatic & Therapy Center
develop personalized plans, treating each client individually to help
with mobility and quality of life, often helping people eliminate the
need for surgery or prescription medications.
The Center's therapists are certified in several specializations with
techniques that support pain reduction. The Center is one of the first
in the area to employ one of the newest forms of interventions called
Dry Needling. This technique is intended to be a nearly painless op-
tion to treat conditions including, but not limited to, pain in the neck,
back, shoulders, and elbows (tennis elbow/golfer's elbow), along
with buttock and leg pain (sciatica, hamstring strains). Migraine and
tension-type headaches can also be treated with this option.
A recent Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy
(JOSPT) included a study that analyzed the results of clinical studies
that determined that dry needling can be effective in providing pain
relief; especially in the neck and arms. For this treatment, the thera-
pist pushes a very thin needle through the skin into the affected soft
tissue. This process is intended to promote a healing response by nor-
malizing the local inflammation and breaking up tissue adhesions.
For more details on this or other specializations at the Center that
may help you with your day-to-day pain, call 216.595.7345 or go to

Prestigious Award Honors
Menorah Park's Home Health
The Menorah Park Home Health Offices has won the prestigious
2015 Home Care Elite Top 25 percent of ALL Home Health Agencies in
the United States. This is an unsolicited award based on purely objec-
tive data gathered by CMS (Center for Medicare Medicaid Services).
The 2015 HomeCare EliteTM is the compilation of the most success-
ful home care providers in the United States. Now in its tenth year,
this market-leading award names the top 25 percent of agencies
based on performance measures for a two-year period, which include
quality of care, quality improvement, patient experience, process
measures implementation, and financial management.
This is actually the second National award won this month.
Menorah Park's Summit office won the HHCAHPS Top 25 (Home
Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems),
a Federal-regulated national company. All Home Health Agencies
are required to have this type of company survey of all their skilled
(Medicare, Insurance and Medicaid) clients every month. To achieve
this status, the company must sustain a 91 percent or above satisfac-
tion on all questions every month for a full year.
