General for Northern
Ohio, as guest speaker
for the Sunday Morning
Forum program on
Sunday, Jan. 17, at 10 am. Free and open to all,
Dettelbach will speak on "The Need to be Better
Neighbors," a timely discussion touching on
terrorism threats and use of excessive force by
police officers.
Nominated by President Obama in 2008, he
was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate
to this position as chief federal law enforcement
officer for the northern 40 counties of Ohio.
Dettelbach previously served for over 12 years
as a career federal prosecutor. During those
years, he worked at the Department of Justice,
Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section; U.S. Attor-
neys Offices in Maryland and Washington, D.C.;
and from 2003 to 2006 in the Northern District
of Ohio, as a member of the Organized Crime
and Corruption Strike Task Force. He graduated
from Dartmouth College in 1988 and from
Harvard Law School and was a partner at the
law firm of Baker & Hostetler, LLP.
