he Beachwood Arts Council’s annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 9, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Beachwood Community Center. Mayor Merle S. Gorden will install the 2015-16 BAC officers and board members. The Si Wachsberger Scholarship will be presented to this year’s recipients, who will perform. In addition, last year’s scholarship winner, Daniel Toner, who attends the University of Cincinnati Conservatory, will play his cello. To conclude the evening, tasty refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public, and BAC members encourage you to attend!
BAC Indian DiversityFest
n Sunday, June 14, from 2 – 5 p.m., the Beachwood Arts Council will host an Indian DiversityFest. Explore the fascinating world of Indian culture at this exciting festival, featuring Indian artwork, music and dance. Henna Art by Kristina Haberek of HennaMe Body Art will also be available between 4 and 5 p.m; and costume Indian jewelry by Amee Patel will be available for sale. You are also invited to enjoy tasty Indian cuisine by The Saffron Patch, Choolaah Indian BBQ and Cafe Tandoor. Small plates will be available between 4 and 5 p.m. for $5/person. An Art Exhibit/Sale showcasing artwork of Marsha Gross from her trip to India will take place Sunday, June 7 – Wednesday, July 8. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Nepalese earthquake victims. The art exhibit and festival are free and open to the community. the area. Panelists representing three of the most prominent Beachwood real estate names include: J. David Heller, co-founder and principal of The NPR Group, LLC, developer of The Vue, a 348-apartment complex at the corner of Chagrin Blvd. and Green Road in Beachwood; Jeffrey M. Kahn, president, NAI Daus, a full-service commercial brokerage firm and owner of three commercial buildings in Beachwood Commerce Park; and, Rob Clarke, senior general manager, General Growth Properties, which owns and operates Beachwood Place. The discussion will be moderated by James Doutt, director of Economic Development, City of Beachwood. The program will be held at The Vue, beginning with informal networking and a gourmet box lunch from Valenti’s Ristoranti in the complex’s community room and (weather permitting) the pool area, starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by the panel discussion at 12:20 p.m. Optional tours of The Vue will be available after the panel discussion. Cost for lunch and the program is $25 for Chamber members, $30 for non-members. Space is limited; reservations are absolutely required. The lunch is expected to be a quick “sell out,” and no walk-ins will be adrmitted.
